12th March 2012 Roundup

1. Red or Black? gets Series 2

So after controversy and terrible reviews, Simon Cowell's ITV game show Red or Black? will return for a second series this year.

The show launched last year and there was a crazy buzz about it, since their was a £1 million prize fund to give away each episode which were shown over a week. The show was highly disappointing. It failed in the ratings and the critics ripped it to shreds. The game show featured several rounds, in which contestants simply had to choose Red or Black to get to the next round. In the end, one person would play for the top prize fund.

The very first episode was plagued by controversy because the first winner of the million pound, turned out to be an ex-prisoner for beating up his girlfriend. There was a call for him to have the money taken away from him but nothing could be done.

However after all of it, ITV have commissioned a second series with a few tweaks to the format. The show will run weekly instead of daily. The prize fund has been dropped to £500,000 but if nobody wins the money at the end of the show it will roll-over to the next until someone wins. If nobody wins there's a potential prize fund of £3.5 million. Ant and Dec are returning to host the show and are said to be very excited. No air date announced yet.

2. Death is coming to The Hamptons.

Have you been watching Revenge? You haven't? You silly. Revenge is the best new TV series this season with twist after twist and evil glare after evil glare. It's amazing. The show stars Emily Van Camp as Emily Thorne who arrives in The Hamptons to get her revenge on the people who live there for framing her Dad. To be honest, it's one of those shows where if someone explains it to you, it doesn't sound that good, but if you watch it, you'll be hooked. Here's a little trailer for you.

The show is nearing it's finale with episode 17 of 22 airing in April. Show runner and creator, Mike Kelley has teased the show will end with a major death. The show isn't shy of killing of characters as several have been bumped off already. He also told E! that a few characters would be left in jeopardy and somebody won't make it through. He also confirmed where Season 2 will go if renewed. There have been many rumours that if the show was renewed, we would get a brand new story and cast replacing the existing ones. But thankfully those rumours are untrue. Kelley has said Season 2 will start with a wedding. He originally said it would be Emily getting married but soon clarified he might not be her, and he wants to start it like Season 1, showing an event in the future where something major happens, then flashback to see the events leading up to whatever happens.

Revenge airs on ABC on Wednesdays but currently on hiatus until April. Sadly, the show has no UK channel to call home, but were all hoping that will change soon.

3. Angelina Jolie is a good person.

Angelina Jolie has showed her support for the KONY2012 campaign. The viral video which was released last week brings attention to Joseph Kony, a war criminal in Uganda who has killed many people and done awful things to alot of people. Here's the video in case you've been living under a rock.

If your not touched by that then I dunno what to say. Jolie said that she doesn't know a single person who doesn't hate Kony. Angelina is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN. She says she's been to Uganda herself and the International Criminal Court and everyone there want's him arrested. Rihanna and Taylor Swift have also shown their support for the campaign since the video was released.
