10th March 2012

1. It's Coming

Yes, the hit ABC show Once Upon A Time is coming to Channel 5 and I urge you to watch it. I've been watching US pace and it's brilliant! Great concept and drama. The characters are loveable, even The Evil Queen who I adore due to her awesome bitchiness. Who doesn't love a good bitch? Let's be honest. No air date for it yet but I'll update you's as soon as I find out. It airs Sundays in America on ABC and stars Ginnifer Goodwin, Robert Carlyle and Jennifer Morrison to name a few.

2. No more awards for Ant and Dec?

Whomp Whomp for Ant and Dec. The Geordie duo, who have won the NTA for Best Presenter for the last 11 years in a row have apparently been told they will not be entered into the running for the award next year, so somebody else can have a try at winning.

The guys who produce the award show say they plan to name the award after them in tribute, but won't allow them to have a chance at winning again. To me, it doesn't really seem fair. I haven't been exactly the biggest fan of Ant and Dec in recent years but obviously people love them otherwise they wouldn't have voted for them to win for the last 11 years so why shouldn't they be allowed to nominated again? Why now? Neither Ant or Dec have commented on the report but I expect hell on when they do. What do you reckon? Should they be retired from being nominated?

3. Pottermore to open in April.

Some of you may be thinking, yeahbutwhaa? right now. Yes believe it or not Pottermore which some users have been using since June 2011 will open to the public fully in April, JK Rowling has announced.

Pottermore is shit. There, I said it. My and friends were pure buzzing when we got our emails to get in. A few weeks later, it was barley talked about because it's very forgettable, very hard to use, uninteresting and confusing. As a massive fan of Harry Potter, it was a huge disappointment. To be fair though, it was only a 'Beta' stage so it wasn't fully what it was meant to be yet. But whatevers there you have it, Pottermore is opening next month.

4. Who has The Voice?

So after weeks of speculation, the much anticipated talent show The Voice is coming to BBC1 on Saturday 24th March.

Based on the original show in Holland, The Voice finally comes to the UK. With coaches instead of judges, each coach will create a team of singers through a series of 'blind auditions' to compete to become The Voice.

Jessie J, will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue (frontman of The Script for those who don't know) have all been confirmed as coaches for the show. First come the Blind Auditions. The coaches have their back turned to the singer and if they like what they hear, they can press their button which turns their chair around and means they would like them on their team. If more than one coach turns around for one singer, then the singer gets to choose who they want to go with, as the coaches try to convince them they are their best bet at winning.

Once all of the places on the 4 teams are filled, then come the Battle Rounds, where 2 singers from each team will sing 1 song together at the same time and their coach will decide who sang best and they will move to the Live Shows. Once the Battle Round is over, the Live Shows commence and the public begins voting for The Voice.

I've been watching The Voice US since it started last year and I love it. The format is brilliant and it feels like a new kind of talent contest show. This is purely based on their voice. Although in the US one we get the occasional sob story and stuff like that, the coaches don't hear any of it so they aren't choosing them out of pity. What I also love is the chemistry between the coaches. The coaches in the US are Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton. They are so brilliant together it's amazing. It's not forced or unnatural, it just works. Even though they are competing against each other, it's clear they have a lot of respect and love for each other which is great. It's a feel good show and a smash in the ratings.

I'm hoping our version of the show has the same kind of buzz about it. I have to admit I would have preferred the original choice of Will Young as a coach instead of Danny O'Donoghue but we'll see what happens. So are you looking forward to The Voice? Will it fair well in the ratings against ITV's Britain's Got Talent, which just happens to be launching on the same night?

And that's your lot for today!
